Funds benefit children’s health programs at Beaumont Children’s locations across Metro Detroit

May 10, 2022 - Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) announced financial support for programs at Beaumont Children’s. More than $2.1 million dollars in grants have been be issued to enhance pediatric programs at Beaumont locations for spring/summer 2022. More than 70 programs received funding.

For nearly 40 years, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been a valued fundraising partner of the Beaumont Health Foundation, raising donations of more than $75 million to help Beaumont Children’s pioneer new health care solutions for children and provide access to the latest research and technology.

The success of the Beaumont Children’s/CMNH partnership relies upon the generosity of the entire community including support from corporate partners, individuals, and Beaumont team members. Corporate partners often reach out to their employees and customers through retail promotions, generating donations gathered one dollar at a time. Major corporate partners include: Speedway, Costco, Walmart and Sam’s Club, Rite Aid, Ace Hardware, RE/MAX, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, and Marriott International.

Twice a year, February and August, Beaumont pediatric nurses, physicians and clinical leaders at all eight Beaumont hospitals (Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak, Trenton, Taylor, Troy and Wayne), as well as the Beaumont Health Center, Center for Exceptional Families and other outpatient sites, have the opportunity to request grants from Beaumont Children’s/CMNH to support new or existing pediatric initiatives.

Some of the funded items include:

• Pediatric Sleep Chair – for parents’ comfort as they stay in the room with their child
• Carescape Monitors - cardiac monitors used to accurately evaluate an infant’s heart rate after a delivery, especially if an infant needs airway management
• Nutritional Education – tools to show healthy serving sizes and instruction on how to build meals that provide a more effective, thorough, and interactive healthy eating education
• Specialty Highchairs - used with NICU patients who need additional trunk and head support for developmentally appropriate activities such as feeding and fine motor activity play
• Giraffe OmniBed - which can be a warmer, isolette or crib for NICU patients and may provide humidification for very premature babies
• Bike Day- providing custom- customized adaptive bikes for children with special needs
• Myoelectric Limb Covers- offer myoelectric prosthetic limbs protection from the elements by a skin-color-matched fitted, life-like glove that contributes to the limb’s realistic appearance

The Children’s Miracle Network grant awards positively impact more than 200,000 children annually and is a fundraising partner of the Beaumont Health Foundation.
