Funds benefit pediatric health programs at Corewell Health Children’s locations across Metro Detroit

Corewell Health Children’s pediatric programs have received $1.8 million in grants from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH). These grants will be used to enhance pediatric programs at Corewell Health Children’s locations for spring/summer 2025.
“Our relationship with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is one of our most valued and impactful partnerships at Corewell Health Children’s,” said Matthew Denenberg, M.D., chief, pediatrics, Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan. “Twice each year, our pediatric programs have the opportunity to be renewed and grow through CMNH grants. Specialized equipment and services are enhanced to better serve our youngest patients and their families – positively impacting the lives of more than 200,000 children annually.”
Corewell Health pediatric nurses, physicians and clinical leaders from all eight Southeast Michigan hospitals (Dearborn, Farmington Hills, Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak, Trenton, Taylor, Troy and Wayne), as well as the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Care Center, Center for Exceptional Families and other outpatient sites, request grant funding from Corewell Health Children’s/CMNH to support new or existing pediatric initiatives.
Recent grants are assisting more than 50 programs with infant-specific equipment, special education for clinical staff and patient families, pet therapy, playroom supplies, patient family financial support, physical therapy tools and much more.
Of special note this funding cycle is the support of two programs: the LAUNCH (Learning, Advocate, Understanding, Nurture, Coaching, Hope) Program and an Audacy Media partnership.
The LAUNCH program is an initiative developed at Corewell Health Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital designed for young adults with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum. The program helps them develop new skills, gain experience in the workforce, and explore their interests and aptitudes through volunteering that eventually leads to employment opportunities in the health system. Funding will support the expansion of this program to additional hospitals.
A new partnership with Audacy Media was formed to offer opportunities unlike any other program at children's hospitals in the region. Pediatric patients will meet and learn from experts in the media field and will be tutored by national music artists to learn lifelong skills in music, instrumentation, recording and broadcasting. This unique partnership will offer an artistic journey to help our pediatric patients focus on their futures and provide encouragement during hospital stays and treatments.
Corewell Health Children’s is a nonprofit entity that relies on the generosity of others to support many initiatives. Through CMNH, corporate partners reach out to their employees and customers through retail promotions, gathering donations one dollar at a time. Major CMNH corporate partners include Speedway, Costco, Walmart and Sam’s Club, Rite Aid, Ace Hardware, RE/MAX, Panda Express, Dairy Queen, and Marriott International. In addition, generous sponsors of the annual Feldman Automotive Children’s Miracle Celebrity Invitational raised $1.5 million to support programs at Corewell Health’s Children’s/CMNH and The Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation in 2024.
Corewell Health Children’s is the only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Southeast Michigan. All donations made locally, stay local.
