Register Now for Corewell Health’s Community Grand Rounds: Transforming Health Care to Advance Health Equity
Community members are invited to attend the informative event in person or virtually on Friday, Oct. 18.

GRAND RAPIDS and SOUTHFIELD, Mich., September 23, 2024 – Online registration is now open for Corewell Health’s Community Grand Rounds: Transforming Health Care to Advance Health Equity, a free event designed to raise public awareness of the importance of advancing health equity to improve population health.

Renowned national expert on health equity and population health, TED speaker, author and CEO of HealthBegins, Rishi Manchanda, M.D., MPH, will highlight the comprehensive approach that is informing Corewell Health’s commitment to improve health equity. Corewell Health is committed to making health care tailored and accessible to all people regardless of racial, ethnic, and/or gender identity; physical or cognitive ability; geographic location; national origin; preferred language and/or other social identities.

“While health care organizations strive for equitable clinical outcomes, the broader project of health equity is largely determined by social, economic and environmental factors,” said Lynn Todman, Ph.D., vice president of health equity and community partnerships, Corewell Health. “Achieving optimal health for every patient and every community requires a portfolio of efforts that include excellent medical care as well as reforms in the way our health care organization operates, community conditions that enable people to thrive and supportive public policy. It’s a team sport. No one organization or sector can do it alone.”

Corewell Health’s Community Grand Rounds will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, from 2 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., and will be offered in three viewing formats: in person, livestreamed to an in-person audience and broadcast virtually via Microsoft Teams. The in-person option will be held at Grand Valley State University DeVos Center for Interprofessional Health, 333 Michigan St. NE, Grand Rapids.
