Santa, a regular volunteer at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, usually, finds himself volunteering in the cath lab. But for the past three years, he has been giving back in a different way – as good ‘ole Saint Nick!
On Dec. 17, Santa visited the boys and girls in Troy’s NICU and pediatric units to take photos with our littlest patients who couldn’t leave the hospital. Check out the heartwarming photos below.
Malissa Staffhorst, first-time mom from Richmond, said being able to capture this memory means so much. Greta’s due date was Jan. 16, but she decided to come a little early on Nov. 29.
“We think it’s just because she wanted to meet Santa and get some presents,” Staffhorst said jokingly. “We didn’t think she would be here for Christmas, so we didn’t expect to have a Santa visit this year. But we are so excited to capture this moment and have it to look back on and remember our time in the NICU for her first Christmas.”
